Председатель Высшей аудиторской палаты РК совершил рабочий визит в Офис национального аудита Литвы
The delegation of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman Alikhan Smailov, arrived with an official visit to Vilnius to exchange experience with the National Audit Office of Lithuania.
During the visit, members of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan will become familiar with Lithuania’s approaches to conducting various types of audits and human resources management, as well as with system IT tools used by foreign colleagues.
As part of the work program, issues such as the methodology and processes of financial audit, performance audit and IT audit, implementation of recommendations based on the results of audits, etc. will be discussed.
During a welcoming meeting with the Auditor General of Lithuania Mindaugas Macijauskas, Alikhan Smailov noted that the Supreme Audit Institutions of the two countries have a long history of cooperation. At the same time, interaction is carried out not only in a bilateral format, but also on the basis of such international organizations as INTOSAI and EUROSAI.
The Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan also emphasized the importance of another stage of the peer review that took place this year in July, within the framework of which audit teams from Lithuania, Portugal and Türkiye conducted an audit at the Supreme Audit Chamber.
“For us, peer review is especially important, since currently reforms in the state audit system are being implemented in Kazakhstan. In this regard, the Supreme Audit Chamber is aimed at implementing the best audit methods and practices, as well as systematically improving the qualifications of state auditors,” said Alikhan Smailov.
He informed Lithuanian colleagues in detail about the changes that have already occurred and upcoming changes in the state audit system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also expressed the readiness of the SAC to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Long-term experience of the National Audit Office of the Republic of Lithuania as an active member of international audit communities and an institution that successfully carries out state audits is of particular interest to us,” noted the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For his part, the Auditor General of Lithuania Mindaugas Macijauskas noted the fruitful cooperation, which began with the signing of a Memorandum between the Supreme Audit Institutions of Lithuania and Kazakhstan in Rio de Janeiro in 2022 and continued in 2023 as part of the peer review. “We hope that further interaction between our institutions will be developed,” he emphasized.
During the visit to the National Audit Office of Lithuania, Alikan Smailov also signed the Guest book.
